Beginning. Chelmsford Crew is a competitive rowing team representing Chelmsford High School in local, state, and regional competition. This spring will mark the team's inaugural competitive season, with athletes completing a full schedule of 4-5 races culminating in the Merrimack Valley Conference Championship and the USRowing Northeast Junior District Championship.

Foundation. Chelmsford Crew is administered by Essex Rowing Club, Inc. – a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on advancing the sport of rowing in the region. Founded in 2006, the club trains athletes along a nearly 8-mile stretch of the Merrimack River, between the Lawrence and Lowell dams. Since its inception, the club has introduced over 400 athletes to the sport of rowing. We place great emphasis upon ensuring our athletes have every resource they require to realize their full potential. As a program of Essex Rowing, Chelmsford Crew's student-athletes benefit from a strong support structure of professional coaches, state-of-the-art equipment, and dedicated training facilities. From this training environment, Essex athletes have gone on to row competitively for colleges and universities such as Harvard, Northeastern, Stanford, Michigan State, University of Alabama, University of Delaware, and Bates – with several earning athletic scholarships for rowing.
